I'm not an expert but I find some excellent INFO from those who are!

Because I do Natural Health Research and I have been researching certain fruits for my gardening ventures, I am featuring Figs and Rhubarb. I found out this week that Fig Trees actually respond well to having their roots restricted. That is the way some gardeners used to grow them and

it is apparently good for fruiting.

I also discovered that Rhubarb Stalks have lots of goodness to offer us, nutritionally speaking. It is endowed with Vitamin B Complex such as folates, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B-6 (pyridoxine), thiamin, and pantothenic acid. They also have Vitamin A and Antioxidants. In addition to these, they have a good content of Vitamin K1 that has a potential role in bone health by promoting bone formation and strengthening activity. Adequate vitamin-K levels in the diet may help to limit neuronal damage in the brain; thus, has established role in the treatment of Alzheimer's.

Figs also have an interesting nutritional profile because they are excellent sources of minerals like calcium, copper, potassium, manganese, iron, selenium and zinc. Figs, one of the oldest fruits known, are native to the Mediterranean and parts of Asia. Eaten fresh from the tree, they taste absolutely delicious.

They are a good source of antioxidant vitamins A, E and K that contribute to health and wellness. And now we know they can be grown in a big Pot more of us can Enjoy them!
