Making Compost

There's no doubt about it......Compost makes Plants Grow!

There are several ways you can make Compost for your Plants.

There is Rotating Compost....Kitchen Compost....Aerated Compost

and Compost Tea.

Compost helps to condition the soil and makes it richer for your plants.

It also acts as a good mulch on top of the soil to conserve moisture. Make sure you

leave a clearance around tomato stem and same with fruit trees especially!

I will include Aerated Compost Tea and Lactose Inoculent here, that are very

beneficial for our plants - they increase their ability to absorb nutrients.

A garden inoculant is really just anything we use to bring beneficial microbes into our organic gardens.

This one is one of the more simpler ones to make, a culture of Lactobacillus bacteria.

These microbes are often deficient for various reasons, but if we can get more of them back in there, they:

Make nutrients available to plants and even feed them nutrients and water directly

Protect plants from disease both in the soil and above ground

Improve the structure of the soil so it has the right amount of air spaces,

water spaces, nutrient availability, pH, etc

Rotational and Tumbler Composters are the Way to Go!
